Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

At least once a summer, we make a trip to our favorite spot in Texas-New Braunfels!
We love this little town!  There is so much to do.  Now that Addison is bigger (and busier), its a bit harder to be on the go all the time, but it forces all of us to slow down and nap, too!

We discovered The Winery on The Gruene several years ago.  Now, we make it a point to come back for a wine tasting every time we are in town.  I always stock up on a few bottles for my wine rack at home.

We spent a lot of relaxing time at Grandma's house!

We also did a lot of shopping, too!

If you have ever read my blog, you know I have a little water baby on my hands.  We went to the Landa Park Aquatic Center to swim on Friday evening.

I'm not sure how many times she went down this slide, but loved it each time!

Addison has no trouble making friends, especially if they have something she wants!  In this case, her new friend had been collecting minnows and Addison had to join him.

David and Colin came to Texas from Boston on Wednesday night, but made it to Grandma's house on Saturday.  We didn't waste any time and headed straight to the river to float!
(Some of these pictures are from my phone, thats why the quality is so bad!)

We love David!  We were trying to recreate a picture we have from a cruise a long time ago!

Once David and Colin got to New Braunfels, we moved from Grandma's house to Camp Warneke Condos.  This was our view from our downstairs patio.  Glorious!

On Sunday morning, we met at the Coffee Shop for breakfast, then headed to Schlitterbahn!

I was a bit nervous how Addison would do, but she couldn't have loved it more!!

We took a few sun breaks and had some delicious snacks!

Addison finally warmed up to Uncle Colin and played games with him all Monday morning!

Lately, Addison has been obsessed with firetrucks!  The NB Fire Station is right off the Plaza.  On Monday morning, we stopped by before we headed home.

The fireman was so good to Addison!  He turned on the lights on every truck!

She listened to his every word he had to say, but was most excited when they got called away to an emergency.

Opa Geisler had to explain to her that they went to help somebody.

This is always such a fun, fun weekend!  We love spending time with The Geislers-especialy when David and Colin are in town!

Finally, Addison crashed after we were in the car for about 30 minutes!

She wasn't the only exhausted one!  Layla was worn out after her vacation at mom and dad's house!

This weekend, we also planned some fun adventures coming up!  Stay tuned!!

Lets Go Rangers!

The day after I came home from my fabulous running camp in Tahoe, we went to Arlington to spend time with The Geislers!

Grandma Vicky bought Addison this precious dress at the wine festival in Tahoe and it looks so cute on her!

Our first night there, we stopped at my favorite - original Sno Hut and ate our snocones by the pool.  Too bad the mosquitos were out and ready to attack!

On Monday, we all got up for a morning run, then hung out at the pool all morning.

Monday night, we had the best tickets to the Rangers vs Red Sox game!
It was Addison's first baseball game!  I can't believe she is in our family and has gone more than two years without a baseball game!

We grew up going to the Ranger games with The Geislers!  We had season tickets for several years when we were younger!

We are all so happy to be back at the Ballpark together.

Addison was a trooper!!  She did great the whole game!
Don't you LOVE my Texas Ranger Toms?!?

Aunt Lori came to the game with us, too!

Addison is a huge ice cream fan these days!!  So glad Pap found some for her!

 The best news of all...

the Rangers beat the Sox 9-1!!!
There is another World Series in their future!  I know it!

Galloway Running Camp

A few weeks ago, I had the most incredible opportunity!
I went to Lake Tahoe, CA for Jeff Galloway's running camp!
We stayed at Squaw Valley Lodge.  Squaw Valley is where the 1960 Winter Olympics were held and the torch is still burning!

I went with Vicky and I am so grateful she invited me!!

Each day started with a 6am run that was about 5-6 miles.  It was about 40 degrees every morning for our run.  It was a welcome change from Texas weather!

Almost every afternoon, we went for a hike.  The views were incredible!

The hike to High Camp was about 4 miles and took us about 3 1/2 hours.  We had a fun group to scale the mountain!

Once we got to the top (8200 feet elevation), there was an awesome pool, hot tub and cabana bar!

All of our meals were provided for us, except for a few dinners.  We got to eat at the local restaurants in the ski village!

Over the weekend, there was a wine festival in the village.  The wine tasting and the shopping was wonderful!

This was one of my favorite runs!  We started on one side of the mountain, went up and over and finished at our lodge!

A lot of the run was on the ridge line and was a bit scary!

Chas and Westin were my buddies at camp.  They had been before (since its their dad and uncle's program) and knew the trails, hikes and paths.  So fun!

Jeff is a running genius!  He was able to answer any and all of our questions, give me a training plan for my upcoming MARATHONS and was a great leader!

The hike to Emerald Bay was amazing!  I never thought I would see so many beautiful views as I did this week in Lake Tahoe!

A few of my girls this week!  We are anxious to go back next year!!

If you can't tell by this picture, the waterfall drops off right below our feet!

Another morning, we went to the lake to start our run.  We ran about 5 miles, then slowly got into the 40 degree water to cool off!

It was almost painful to be in the water!

A few afternoons, Jeff held special running clinics and speed trainings!

We frequented Uncorked-a fabulous winery in the village!

Thursday morning was our 'long run.'  I was told it was a 14 mile trail run.  Going in, I was a bit nervous to go that far, but I didn't want to miss out either.

We ran Donnor Pass.  (You know...the Donnor Party??  This is where it all happened.)

This was about 4 miles into the run.

At times, it was freezing on the mountain!  There was even snow up there!

Slowly making my way over the snow...

Tinker's Knob was 8949 ft elevation!  It was so cold, but so gorgeous!!!
The whole run/hike was 15.5 miles!!!

Of course, we had to visit Uncorked again before the week was over!

Oh my goodness!  It was an INCREDIBLE week!  I will be going back next year!  I learned so much, met so many fabulous people and had the time of my life!
