Weekend in Nac!

This weekend, we went to Nac to visit Kasey!

We also went to run Freedom 5K!  It is the second of at least 4 runs we have to do to complete the Nacogdoches 5K Challenge!

The race didn't start until 8:00 and it was HOT and HUMID!

I ended up with a PR at this race!

We found the race results and decided to hang around for the awards this time, since we placed!!

Dad got 2nd in his age group!

Kasey's friend, Clayton, got 2nd in his age group!

And I got third in mine!

I think we owned the race this time!!

It was a fun, but quick trip to Nac!  

We have a fall full of races and new PRs to set!!

4th of July Fun!

We had a GREAT 4th of July!

Jimmy had Addison on Tuesday morning, so I missed getting to take her to the parade.  I think she would have LOVED it this year!  We will go next year, for sure!

I picked her up about 11 that morning and we headed to mom and dad's house.  We had lots of plans for a pool afternoon, but we had to attempt a photo shoot first!

 Addison looked so cute in her 4th of July outfit and bow!!

 All she could talk about was the pool and swimming.  She was not interested in taking pictures.  We quickly changed and headed to the neighborhood pool.

 They have a kiddie pool which is perfect, but not good enough for her.  She didn't last long in this pool and wanted to go to the big pool and big slide instead.

I wish we got a picture, but Addison slid down the big kid slide!  She had to climb the ladder and the slide went into the 10ft deep end!  She has no fear!!!

That night, we went to our annual 4th of July party!  I only got one picture because I was too busy swimming with Addison again!

The fireworks started and at first she loved them, but then got really scared.  Once we got in the car, she was fine and kept asking for more!  We have another big weekend planned in Nacogdoches with Kasey, then the Geislers are coming next week!

Two Years Post!

I just realized I never did a two year post for 'baby' Addison!

I have taken her picture every month on her birthday and every week her first year!  I cannot believe she is TWO!!  She had her two year well check a few weeks ago and everything is perfect.  This girl is still 95% in height and, surprisingly, she has made it to 75% in weight.  For a long time, she was only between 10-20% weight.

This girl is so stinkin smart!  I may be a bit biased, but I'm serious!  She knows all her colors, can recognize and tell me about a circle, square, heart, moon and star shape.  On a good day, she can count to three or four, but likes to skip around and just name all the numbers she knows.  She can tell you that she is TWO!  She is talking - a lot!  Everything has a name now!  If she doesn't know what something is called, she holds it up and says, "This?"  She is a little sponge!  We have conversations now!  I love it! 

Every night, we read books.  She loves to read!  After each book, she says, "One more, please?"  We normally read four or five books each night before bed.  She loves to have her toenails painted.  We always paint nails here.  Even her babies have painted nails now.

She is such a good girl.  We have been going to the pool everyday.  When they blow the whistle for a safety break, she yells, "Out!"  Then immediately asks for a snack.  We have a good routine each day with pool, naps and lots os playing.

I just love this girl!  I cannot wait to see what else she learns this summer!  We have lots of fun things planned!

Fun Filled Weekend!

This weekend, we went to Nacogdoches to visit Kasey!

Thursday night, they had the Taste of Nacogdoches.  We had this in Arlington and also in The Woodlands!  All of the restaurants in Nac had booths and handed out awesome food!

 On Friday morning, we slept in and went for breakfast at the donut shop!  Addison was in heaven, most of the time, we try to have good, healthy breakfasts.

 Then, we headed into Lufkin to go to the zoo!

 The Lufkin Zoo has tame peacocks that roam all over the whole zoo.  They are gorgeous!

Addison was in awe of the big feathers!

 At the end of the day, a few peacocks wanted Addison's snack!

 Friday night, Kasey and I went out with a few of her friends.  This weekend was the Nacogdoches Blueberry Festival.  We each had a yummy blueberry drink.

 Saturday morning was the Running of The Blueberries 5K!

 It was a semi-trail run and the weather was perfect!

 I did not PR, but I did pretty good for a trail run!

I decided to stay in Nac, one more night, for the John Michael Montgomery concert!

 We had a great time singing and dancing!!!

 Kasey's friend had the hook up and we got in VIP!

 The highlight of the evening was actually getting to MEET JMM!!

 I had him sign my new John Michael Montgomery Koozie!

So fun!

On Sunday, we lounged around for awhile, then met Mom, Dad and Addison half way so I could get home.

I love it and I am looking forward to the next time we get to go to Nac!  Thanks, Kasey!
